Gies College of Business is once again ranked as a Top 5 public undergraduate business program in the nation, according to the latest rankings released by Poets&Quants, the preeminent source for information on undergraduate and graduate business education. Gies Business is ranked #4 among public business schools and #15 overall. For this ranking, Poets&Quants considers factors such as admissions standards, the college experience, and career outcomes.
Gies Business stacked up exceptionally well in all three categories, notably ranking #5 overall in academic experience. Data for this category is taken from an alumni survey, which covers key aspects of the student experience.
Admission standards, where Gies ranked #16 overall, reflects the College’s commitment to remaining both competitive and inclusive. Metrics include acceptance rate, graduation rate, average SAT/ACT scores, and average high school GPA. Importantly, the ranking also incorporates the percentage of students who are first-generation students, underrepresented minorities, women, and international students.
Gies graduates also reported strong career outcomes. For this category, Poets&Quants includes employment rate of job-seeking graduates three months after graduation, percentage of graduates who had a business-focused internship during their college experience, and the average total first-year compensation for recent graduates. Ninety-six percent of Gies graduates reported successful first destinations, either securing a full-time job or continuing their education – and the average starting salary for a Gies Business graduate is more than $76,000.
