Five accountancy students recognized with 2016 Excel Awards from the Illinois CPA Society

Five students in the College's accountancy program have received Excel Awards from the Illinois CPA Society (ICPAS). The awards are granted annually to recognize young CPAs and their notable achievement on the 2015 CPA Exam. In order to be considered, candidates must achieve a combined average score of 90% or above on all sections of the exam within two consecutive testing windows, as well as being in the top five percent of Illinois scores. Excel Gold, Silver and Bronze medals are awarded to those who achieve the top three Exam scores in the state. This year's Gold medal Award went to Qiaoli Wang. The Silver Medal Award went to Tyler Faught. Monika Warnecka, Marion Brisport, and Ryan Spatz were among the Honored Excel Award Recipients. Todd Shapiro, CEO of the ICPAS, declared in a statement that “passing the CPA Exam is a tremendous achievement on its own, and to do so with such high scores is an incredible accomplishment that few achieve." To all five Illinois accountancy student winners, congratulations! For more information
