Yifei Lu joined Gies from the University of Rochester’s Simon Business School, where he earned his PhD and master’s degree. He is teaching a graduate course, ACCY 570: Data Analytics Foundations, this fall and will pursue interdisciplinary research with an interest in areas outside of traditional accounting, like environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives.
“We have known that we are no longer the sage on the stage, but a guide on the side,” said Professor Vishal Sachdev. “But I think we’re getting a little further out, where you’re essentially a curator of an experience that you want the students to have."
Don't miss Gies Business Signing Day on Thursday, March 3. Signing Day is the day students declare which major they have chosen to pursue. It’s a big day on our calendar, and we always bring in a special guest to help us celebrate. This year, our College's namesake Larry Gies will join us for the festivities. In 2017, Larry and his wife Beth invested $150 million into the College in an effort to create an immediate and lasting impact for current and future students.
