Professor Charles Kahn to be honored with Festschrift

Charles Kahn A festschrift is a collection of essays or learned papers contributed by a number of people to honor an eminent scholar. Professor Charles Kahn will be the recipient of this honor June 18-19, 2016 at the Payments Research Conference in Calgary, Canada. Kahn, a professor emeritus of finance in the College of Business, will deliver the conference's final presentation on Payments and Policy. Eight other papers and seven conference sessions will represent the latest in payments research by experts from the Federal Reserve Bank, the Bank of Canada, De Nederlandsche Bank, MIT, the University of Illinois, and other universities and institutions throughout North America. Charles M. Kahn received his PhD in economics from Harvard University. He has published extensively in economics and finance journals on issues in the economics of asymmetric information and its effects on institutional arrangements. He has been a National Fellow at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University, a Visiting Fellow at the Australian National University, and an Overseas Fellow at Churchill College of Cambridge University. He has served as a consultant to the Bank for International Settlements on inter-authority coordination of bank regulation and as a consultant at central banks, including the Federal Reserve Banks of Atlanta, Chicago, Cleveland, and New York, the European Central Bank, and the Bank of England, where he has researched incentive effects of payment and settlement systems.
