Teaching Interests

Ning's teaching interests are informal leadership development, sustainable and cross-cultural career development. When teaching, Ning's goal is to reduce the cognitive space, known as "transactional distance," among students, the instructor, and the learning materials. She emphasizes the reflection perspective in transformative and experiential learning when teaching. She enjoys experimenting with technologies with her students to enhance their learning experiences.

Research Interests

Ning's research paradigm is based on constructivism and emphasizes individuals' living experiences. Her research highlights the contextual differences, such as people's sociological factors, values and beliefs affect how individuals learning attitudes and gaining knowledge. She approaches research from diversity and inclusion lens and is interested in how individuals' learning experience affects their career and leadership development decision-making processes.
