Current Courses

  • The Legal Environment of Bus (BADM 300) Introduction to law and the legal system, litigation, contracts, business organizations, intellectual property, employment law and governmental regulation of business.

  • Business Ethics Academy (BADM 390) The Business Ethics Academy is an action-learning course for undergraduates where students learn to analyze and solve ethical problems in business and present those solutions persuasively and professionally by preparing for and participating in a business-ethics case competition. Students are normally invited to participate by the faculty.

  • Illinois Bus Ethics Academy (BADM 395) Special topics of interest to students majoring in Business Administration.

  • Corporate & Commercial Law (BADM 403) Advanced discussion of corporate and commercial law, including topics tested on the CPA exam: agency, contracts, debtor-creditor relationships, governmental regulation of business and business organizations.

  • Negotiation (BADM 516) Teaches students the fundamentals of assessing a negotiation situation and developing negotiation strategies. Every business student will encounter situations during their career that require, or could be improved by, effective negotiation, so they need to know how to reach resolutions that are acceptable, practical, and valuable. Students will learn a framework for planning for, conducting, and analyzing negotiations and will engage in a series of negotiations to practice and advance these new skills.

  • Negotiations (BADM 590) Special topics in the general area of business. Topics are selected by the instructor at the beginning of each term.
