GIES ONLINE IMPACT REPORT

Online by Design
Learner-centric programs built for the online learner

Instead of just moving our existing residential programs online, we rebuilt them from the ground up in order to deliver the most engaging and powerful experience for our learners. We know not everyone starts their educational journey at the same place, so our programs are designed to meet you where you are and help you achieve your own unique goals.

Learn On Your Terms

All learners take different paths to achieve their educational goals. At Gies, you can start with as big - or as small - of a step as you'd like. Because your time and money are extremely valuable, Gies' online programs work together, so you won't need to retake classes or pay unnecessary tuition as you progress.

What is Stackability?

You can complete a course and then apply that credit toward a certificate or degree. Or you can start with a certificate and stack that into a degree.

Why is Stackability Important?

Your time and money are your most valuable assets, and we want to ensure you’re making the most of both. Stackability means you won’t need to retake courses you’ve already completed or pay unnecessary tuition.

How we do it

Our online-by-design model reduces the need for prerequisites and allows you to take courses and specializations in almost any order so you can build a personalized learning experience.

How Stackable Education Works

Complete a course

Whether you're looking for a new skill or to kickstart a long-term education journey, it all starts with one course.

Big or Bite-sized Educational Opportunities

Everyone has a unique educational journey, and learners today want choices for how to best pursue their goals. On top of courses and certificates — which are offered as for-credit and non-credit options — learners can choose from a variety of micro-credentials which teach in-demand skills like business analytics and leadership.

Solutions To Fit Every Learning Journey

Providing educational opportunities to learners of all kinds is part of our mission. Jeffrey Brown, Dean of the Gies College of Business, penned a white paper on why business schools must embrace this change happening within higher education—or risk irrelevance.
