Fei Du
Assistant Professor | Accountancy

Fei Du joined Gies College of Business as an assistant professor of accounting in 2017. She teaches data analytics in managerial accounting, a course she developed when she arrived at Illinois. That course serves to build up students’ data analytics skills and provides interactive workshops for students to work on hands-on data cases in small groups. Fei earned her PhD from the University of Southern California, and she is entering her second year as an RC Evans Data Analytics Fellow.

Eric Larson
Teaching Associate Professor | James F. Towey Faculty Fellow | Business Administration

Eric Larson is a teaching associate professor and associate head of the Department of Business Administration at Gies College of Business, where he has taught since 2012. Eric earned his PhD in information systems at the University of Minnesota and previously served as the academic director of the MS in Management program at Illinois. He teaches several courses, including business analytics I, which serves as an introduction to basic knowledge of statistics, distributions, and linear regressions in a business setting. In his research, he leverages substantial organizational data about large companies to understand the impact of technology and organizational structure on performance.

Elizabeth Luckman
Clinical Assistant Professor | Business Administration

Elizabeth Luckman is a clinical assistant professor of organizational behavior at Gies College of Business. She spent the last year on campus as a senior researcher in leadership and executive development at the National Center for Professional and Research Ethics. She came to Illinois after completing her PhD in organizational behavior at Washington University’s Olin Business School. Her scholarship is focused on two key streams of thought: the nature of leadership and its role in value creation and optimizing well-being at work; and defining ethical behaviors and character and how these attributes impact outcomes and the workplace environment. 

Yuqian Xu
Assistant Professor | Business Administration

Yuqian Xu is an assistant professor of operations management at Gies College of Business. She brings a strong interest in data analytics, risk analysis, and operations management into her second year as an RC Evans Data Analytics Fellow. Xu earned her PhD in operations management in 2017 from New York University, and her research mainly focuses on operations-finance interface and the digital online market. She has collaborated with companies like IBM, Alibaba,, Bank of China and others through her research.

Qingquan (Tony) Zhang
Instructor | Finance

Qingquan (Tony) Zhang is an instructor of finance at Gies College of Business, and he is also a quantitative equity portfolio manager/quantitative researcher at Zacks Investment Management. Zhang serves on the educational advisory group of the CFA Society Chicago and is the president of the Chicago chapter of the Chinese Trading and Investment Association. His research focuses on big data analytics and artificial intelligence in finance and smart cities. He has co-founded a high-tech startup in drones and RC cars. Zhang earned his PhD in computer engineering from University of Minnesota Twin Cities and his MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
