DESCRIPTION:In this mock class\, Professor Noel will lead an interactive se
ssion that will mimic what one of our high-engagement live classes looks l
ike here at Gies. He currently teaches BADM 520\, where he introduces conc
epts useful in understanding marketing systems and buyer behavior in addit
ion to developing skills in making marketing decisions. When trying to enh
ance brand equity\, one growth strategy companies pursue is via a brand ex
tension. This involves assigning the brand name to a product in a differen
t category. While this can be a very successful strategy\, if done appropr
iately\, it can be risky as well. In this lecture\, Prof. Noel will presen
t a framework that would help you evaluate the chances of success for a pr
oposed extension. You will get the opportunity to develop an extension wit
 h other attendees.\n\nHayden Noel&nbsp\;is a clinical associate professor
of business administration. He began his career at the University of Illin
ois in 2007 as a visiting assistant professor before serving from 2009-201
5 as an assistant professor and from 2015-2019 as a clinical assistant pro
fessor. He was named clinical associate professor in 2019. His research in
terests include consumer information processing and memory. Noel has been
on the List of Professors Ranked as Excellent for 10 years\, was named Exe
cutive MBA Program Professor of the Year in 2016\, received the Profession
al MBA Teaching Excellence Award in 2017\, and was named iMBA Professor of
the Year in 2019. He earned his PhD in marketing from the University of F
lorida in 2002. He currently serves as the Director of Residential MBA Pro
